應義塾大学SFC坂井直樹研究室、筧康明研究室、中澤仁研究室が共同開発している「NS_cane」は、プロダクトデザイン、センサ技術、プログラミング、インタラクティブメディア等の多様な要素を融合した杖だ。デジタル技術により機能を拡張された杖は、盲導犬に代わる新たな情報の「相棒」となる可能性を秘めている。本プロジェクトではこのような杖を介して、都市空間と人とのインタラクション、人と人とのコミュニケーションを促進することをねらう。
